The spectacular “Staircase to the Moon” seen during March to October for 3 nights per month can be seen from Town Beach. This natural phenomena is occurs as a rising full moon is reflected on the tidal flats of Roebuck Bay.
The wrecks of the Dutch Flying Boat are visible during negative tides. Located 1km offshore from Town Beach. These wrecks remain as evidence of the flying boats sunk by the Japanese air raid on Broome in March 1942 during World War II
